The Extralink Microcable is a specialized fiber optic cable with a configuration of 144 fibers (12 tubes with 12 fibers each) designed for microducting applications. It features G.652D type fibers known for their excellent signal transmission qualities. The cable's construction involves 12 tubes coiled around a central Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) rod, which serves as a strengthening component. To protect against water ingress, the cable is filled with Water Swellable Yarn, a type of polyester yarn that expands upon contact with water. Additionally, the outer coating of the cable is corrugated to facilitate easy installation by blowing the cable into a sewer pipe.
