The Ubiquiti Networks AirFiber AF-5XHD is a powerful wireless broadband solution that introduces cutting-edge LTU technology, transcending the constraints of traditional 802.11 Wi-Fi. Specifically designed for the 5 GHz frequency band, this device is Ubiquiti's premier LTU radio, allowing channel bandwidths up to 100 MHz and utilizing more sophisticated RF components. To form a comprehensive 5 GHz Point-to-Point (PtP) system, pair the AF-5XHD with a compatible Ubiquiti airFiber X or RocketDish antenna. It also includes an IP67 upgrade kit for enhanced dust and water protection.
The device comes with Auto Output Power enabled by default, automatically adjusting the output power (EIRP) to the optimal level. Users can program the transmit power up to +29 dBm. The AF-5XHD also allows for programmable downlink/uplink traffic ratios including 25%, 33%, 50%, 67%, and 75%, crucial for GPS synchronization. Configurable support is available for 2, 2.5, 4, and 5 ms frames, ensuring compatibility with other synchronous systems and airMAX networks when using 5 ms frame lengths.
The radio supports operating on distinct frequencies for transmission and reception, providing flexibility to mitigate interference. It also allows for different channel bandwidths for transmission and reception, enabling more efficient data capacity scaling. The AF-5XHD supports adaptive modulation rates up to 4096QAM.
For connectivity, the device features dual redundant Gigabit Ethernet ports with Power over Ethernet (PoE). Users can configure the device wirelessly through a built-in Bluetooth interface. The AlignLock Antenna Aiming Guard notifies users of any changes in radio or antenna alignment due to tampers or environmental factors. Redundant firmware images are available to ensure fail-safe configurations and increased reliability. The AF-5XHD also offers real-time spectrum analysis capabilities across all bands on live links without operational disruption, alongside a wide voltage range and enhanced surge protection (19-50VDC).
Additional product details include a throughput of over 1 Gbps, 4096 QAM Modulation, processing of more than 2 million packets per second, and proprietary RF filtering technology.
